The lovely sound of the harp combined with the visual beauty of the instrument creates the wonderful atmosphere for your wedding, whether a large extravagant event, or a simple affair. Harp is the perfect compliment to all parts of a wedding day. When booking, consider the following three options: -Wedding Ceremony -Drinks Reception or -Wedding Breakfast
Wedding Ceremony
The following explains the places where you need the music during the Ceremony: Assembly of guests~ gentle music is played while your family and friends are arriving and being seated (approx 30 min prior to the Ceremony). Entrance of the Bride~ the Bride often chooses the music she wishes to accompany her down the aisle. "Bridal Chorus" is the most popular, but it could be any other song of your choice (preferably in walking pace). Signing of the register~ 2,3 melodies that are flowing, relaxing and pleasant for guests to listen while you are signing the register and taking photographs. Grand Exit ~ music as the married couple walk back down the aisle at the end of the Ceremony ~ one song that is up-beat and celebratory, for example "Wedding March", or any other song of your choice.
Branka will be happy to help you choose the music for your special day. You might have specific pieces of music in mind which are favourites or which have a special significance for you, so please do not hesitate to let Branka know your suggestions. The songs featured on the repertoire list may also help you decide upon suitable music.
Note: Religious music is not allowed to be played during the Civil Ceremony (for example "Ave Maria", or "Jesu Joy Of Man's Desiring"), but that leaves just about any other type of music to choose from.
Drinks Reception
Having harp music played during Drinks Reception is very popular and helps set a pleasant atmosphere as your guests celebrate with a glass of champagne and chat away in the period leading up to the Wedding Breakfast.
Wedding Breakfast
The inclusion of background harp music during the Wedding Breakfast always creates a great atmosphere among guests and the wedding party. If you are having a receiving line, the harp playing will begin as your guests enter the room and will continue throughout the meal until coffee/speeches. A wide variety of songs is usually played to suit the bride and groom, and to satisfy the different tastes and age ranges present. The harp would be played for around 2 hrs throughout the meal, until coffee/speeches.
Please state if you are having speeches before the meal.
